Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.
The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.
MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.
Underground Maintenance Technician
We currently have a great career opportunity for an experienced Underground Maintenance Technician to join our team at Rosebery in Tasmania. This position will report into the Supervisor - Mine Maintenance and offered on a 7:7 roster including night shift.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct activities in line with the weekly maintenance schedules in order to achieve a baseline compliance
- Through the process of conducting maintenance activities, identify opportunities to improve site-wide reliability of mobile and fixed assets
- Support and improve the reliability and availability of mobile and fixed plant assets by participating in programs to identify root cause of failures and the implementation of improvements.
- Assist in the development of requirements and specifications for work plans and schedules.
- Fostering a culture of safe work practices and good housekeeping
Qualifications & Competencies
- Trade qualified heavy diesel fitter/mechanic
- To be successful, you will have an unwavering commitment to safe work practices, a team player with a strong motivation and passion to be part of our mining family at Rosebery.
- Experience in diagnosing faults and repairing equipment according to OEM specifications
- Experience in the service and maintenance of AD60 & 55B trucks, R2900 loaders, Sandvik Jumbos and Cable bolter, Atlas Copco Simba and Cable Tec
- A current driver’s license.
- Competency working with computers and Microsoft Office.
