The beijing office creates significant value to MMG by Geology Database.
We are pleased to advise that we seek a Geology Database Administrator. Based in beijing and reporting to Senior Information Geologist, the purpose of this job is to provide geological information services to ensure security, quality, maintenance and enhancement of geological data and databases used for Mineral Resources and operational purposes across MMG.
Key Accountabilities:
•Maintenance and enhancement of company geological databases.
•Administer and maintain the Plods (Progressive Log of Drilling) data system across locations and contribute to the development and implementation of standardized drilling reports.
•Implement and oversee QA/QC processes for geological data. Create and improve reports from the database for sites, managers and other departments.
•Provide coaching and training of MMG personnel in geological data and databases use, and related best practices.
•Provide guidance and assistance to site mine geology departments data practices (logging, data collection/storage and exports).
•Work with database vendors & IT/OT Team to resolve technical issues and improve the database user interface(s).
•Identify and action continuous improvement opportunities across the department portfolio. Ensure high quality output for spatial data management systems
•Develop strong working relationships with geological data users across the operational sites and within Head Office
To be considered, candidates must have
•Advanced English communication (listening, speaking, writing) and proven stakeholder-engagement skills
•Expert SQL developer; experience with Power BI, VBA, Python, or Access highly regarded
•Skilled user of geological database systems highly advantageous; Geobank or acQuire desirable
•Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server Services
•Strong general IT capability and awareness of best-practice IT procedures
•Well-honed planning, organisation and execution abilities
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Track record of delivering work programs on time and to scope
•Committed to meeting or exceeding industry best-practice standards
•Able to build productive relationships across all internal teams
•Experienced mentor with well-developed coaching skills.
